A LUMIX milestone: Apple ProRes codec video:

Thanks to a CFexpress Type B card (MOV, 5.7K, 5728x3024, 29.97p/25.00p/24.00p), the LUMIX GH6 can internally record ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes 422 codec videos - the esteemed industry standard renowned for its high image quality and minimal compression. This helps to reduce the load on your computer during post-production and facilitates NLE (non-linear editing) without the need for transcoding, in turn streamlining your workflow.

5.7K 10-bit 60p/50p recording:

Offering 5.7K (5728x3024) 4:2:0 10-bit 60p/50p (17:9) and 5.8K (5760x4320) 30p/25p/24p 4:2:0 10-bit anamorphic (4:3) modes, the LUMIX GH6 delivers high image quality, versatility and creative freedom thanks to higher resolution and higher bit rates than ever before. The GH6 opens the door to boundless video production projects, including film, and TV.

Unrestricted 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p video recording:

Pioneering 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p internal recording, the GH6 allows for unlimited recording time under recommended operating temperatures. Ideal for small production teams and demanding conditions where mobility and quality are crucial, the GH6 also facilitates simultaneous internal and external recording via HDMI output.

7.5-stop Dual I.S. 2 (Image Stabiliser):

Utilising 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 (Image Stabiliser), the GH6 combines Body I.S. and Lens O.I.S. control to deliver 7.5 stops' worth of correction.

HFR/VFR 10-bit recording:

The GH6 now supports C4K/4K 10-bit 120p/100p HFR (high-frame-rate) video recording with audio, opening the door to high-resolution slow-motion recording. In addition to this, it offers a diverse array of 10-bit ALL-Intra recording modes for advanced editing, enabling FHD 240p/200p HFR and FHD 240fps VFR (variable frame rate) video capture. With VFR, users can record up to 12.5x super slow-motion video (FHD 10-bit 24p/300fps).

New Venus Engine:

With approximately double the processing power compared to previous models, the new Venus Engine allows for high-speed processing of the sensor's increased pixel counts and higher-resolution, higher-bit-rate video. Furthermore, image quality performance sees significant enhancement, and the Intelligent Detail Processing enhances resolution, while the addition of 2D and high-performance 3D Noise Reduction (for videos) optimises noise reduction. This results in natural, 3D-like images with minimal noise even at high sensitivity. Moreover, high-precision Dual 3D Colour Control improves colour reproduction (brightness, saturation, and hue), creating richer and truer colours.

New 25.2MP sensor:

The GH6 has the first Micro Four Thirds™ system standard 25.2-megapixel Live MOS sensor. Without a low-pass filter, the GH6’s design accommodates more pixels and higher resolution, yielding ultra-realistic detail. Its heightened readout speed facilitates C4K/4K 120p video recording and 75-frames-per-second burst shooting using the electronic shutter while also minimising rolling shutter distortion.
